My unit burns fine and goes out when the thermistat cycles off, but the blower wont and keeps blowing air.

The guts of the electricals are more-or-less easy to get to, but Id like to find guidance on just exactly what part to replace.

Also, can I even get a replacement part, or a reliable substitute Where should I start troubleshooting, given the age of this unit Thanks in advance, Jon.

Remove that cover, and watch the silver dial move as the burner warms up the heat exchanger.

But, please post back on what the tabs are set at.

There are two white wires going to what I presume is the fan switch from the dial of the limit switch.

Curiously, the dial has a FAN and OFF printed on the dials bottom extreme, with numbers around the diameter, but the dial wont turn to their positions in either direction.

The fan switch is held inside with two small metal screws, so if what you say is true, Ill have to undo those to observe these tabs going round.

And Ill have to run to Home Depot to get a tiny socket set (been meaning to have an excuse).

If the dial isnt turning, then chance are it may need to be replaced.

I found a small button-like affair mounted on the plate I pulled, facing into the flue.

There was a partially-torn paper cover with some numbers on it.

There was a metal side, shaped like the button but not depressable, and a bakelite-like backside, where the paper was.

Anyway, there was nothing I could physically observe to shed any light on my problem.

According to the schematic, the limit switch (in the flue) and the fan switch are two separate units, the latter being just a control.

Should I just replace the limiti switch beastie and if so, how Is this a lost cause Jon.

If you have a meter, use it to check to see if its open or closed in room temp.
